Health Fast Food, Get it While You Can
Healthy fast food, coming to a town near you. Yawn. Been there, done that. McDonalds once had a snack bar; not profitable. They tried a healthier sandwich that had some grain-like filler in the meat (I liked them) but that didn't last. Apparently I was the only one who ordered them.
If you truly want to get off the burgers-and-fries habit, find another restaurant. Trying to break your ordering habit by walking in the same door, stepping up to the same order window, and seeing the same menu is just like putting a bowl of salted nuts in front of a group and saying, don't eat those, they are for display.
I tend to order the same thing at the same place time after time. If your a mono-food eater like me, then skip the new menu, and try something different entirely, or go home and make something to eat! What a concept.
Enter Health Food Hut
If you live in Florida you may see one of the first Health Food Hut restaurants. Slated to be the first "healthy fast food" the menu will feature organic burgers, wild Alaskan seafood, a “raw bar,” a smoothie bar and dedicated vegetarian items. Non-vegetarian foods will be comprised of very lean meats; such as, 100% venison and bison hot dogs. You'll also find fresh baked organic breads and fresh organic desserts. Yup, it sounds just yummy, but ...
When you try healthier foods you'll think, hey, I could make this at home.
An interesting side note: The company recruited Dr. Robert Young, founder of pH Miracle and creator of Innerlight Supergreens, as a menu and nutritional consultant. Dr. Young’s pH Miracle Water and his pH Water System will be featured in all of the restaurants. I thought the pH Miracle was a strict vegetarian diet? Whatever.
Expect weekly "surprises" and power-packed items like the Nitro-Breakfast Packet, packed with nutrients, range-free Power Burgers, and Sweet Potato Fries. This is making me hungry.
What's Different at Health Food Hut is no fried and processed foods, only foods that are baked, steamed or grilled. No high fructose corn syrup, only organic cane, honey or agavé sweeteners. No heavy, fat-laden sauces only vegetable- and fruit-based sauces and dressings. And vegan alert! Vegan foods are prepared and cooked in their own area that is nowhere near meats.
I would love to see this concept survive, so if you spot a Health Food Hut, you get yourself in there and give it a try!
