Miniature Food Done Right
I love food, so it makes sense I'd also love little miniature models of food, though I'm not sure why. Brings out the "oh it's so cute" in me, I guess.
This remarkable demonstration of how to craft Itty Bitty Food takes the cake, especially since it's edible! I only wish I were so talented.
Imagine that! Eat bread while you lose weight. What a concept. I'm sorry I didn't find this during the Atkins' craze a couple years back.
Fact is, you can eat anything you want while you lose weight. The trick is how much, how often? Quantity and frequency that's the tricky part. Of course you can eat cake, you can eat waffles, you can eat anything, but what you eat will make a difference in how easily you lose weight.
If you eat 1200 calories of nothing but candy, will that be the same as if you ate a 1200 calorie balanced diet? Not hardly. Some will argue, but frankly you're body needs more than sugar. It needs fats, carbohydrates and proteins to build and support all the body's cells, so again, it's not the calories alone, but the quality of those calories.
This is Boring. What Can I Eat?
Eat what you love, but be reasonable about it. If you love french fries (one of my favs) understand they are deep fried (meaning they soak up more grease when they cook), so they are loaded with fat and calories, plus usually lots of sodium. Excess sodium will tend to cause extra water weight, so you may feel or look puffy or bloated. You didn't gain weight so much as you gained extra water. Wait a day or two.
Greasy foods are okay in moderation, as is just about anything else. Moderation simply means you eat them occasionally, not every day. This isn't rocket science. It's when someone tries to deny themselves all the goodies that the trouble begins.
An Adult Denied is an Adult Indulged Five Minutes Later
We're all like little kids when it comes to getting what we want, especially where food is concerned. Silly little babies sometimes. So stop crying and just have what you love, in moderation. If you can't quite handle moderation, then you aren't quite ready to improve your health.
