WA State Measure 912 - Vote Yes to Stop Gas Tax Increase
Okay, local politics. I apologize, but hey, this is my blog I get to do what I want.
Vote YES on 912
In the Washington State general election 2005, ballot measure 912, brought by the people to repeal a ridiculous scheme by our legislators to cram a gas tax increase down our throats. Originally this tax increase was simply going to happen with no word whatsoever from the people. Had 912 not been brought to attempt to stop them, we'd have ended up with an additional nearly 10 cents per gallon tax on each and every gallon of gas! If the high cost of living is a consideration, wouldn't the ridiculous price of gas be a factor in deciding to relocate to Washington State?
Why Some Ballot Measures are Confusing: When Yes Means No
Because 912 is brought to stop a tax increase, the wording is confusing. Does yes mean no? It's one of those type things. In this case, Yes means No, so vote Yes on 912 if you do not want to pay another 10 cents per gallon of gas, and it's that simple. Vote Yes means No More Gas Taxes, We are Paying Through the Nose Already Thank You Very Much.
Find Another Way to Fund the Road Projects
Yes, we need improvements to our roads but funding it on the backs of the poor is not the way to go. We already have threats of losing our public transportation, and this would only make that worse. Vote YES on 912, and if you are a resident of Washington State or have any friends or relatives here, please take a minute to send them an e-mail or give them a call and suggest they also vote YES on 912.
Thanks, and now back to our regularly scheduled programming ...
