I totally agree with you on the diet claim. However, I have two members of my upcoming bridal party using this plan and both of them have lost more 15 and 16 pounds respectively in the first two weeks. I am still leery, and focusing on portions, calories, cardio and weight training, but with these results, more of my bridal party is joining this diet. so...who know?

No one's saying you can't rapidly lose weight on these ridiculous diet plans; the point is, it's temporary. If you only mean to be thin for the wedding, go for it, but if you want to lose weight and keep it off, you want to try something else like changing some of your regular habits.
It's okay to use a fad diet for a quick weight loss (to fit into that special dress for instance), just don't expect it to be a lasting weight loss :-)
I wish you the best with your upcoming wedding and keep doing what you are doing and you'll reach your goal of better health, i.e. watching portions (which takes care of the calories), and doing cardio and weight training.
